ARTFUL MOMENTS ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI
THE FINAL COMPLETED WORK OF ARCHITECT DANIEL BURNHAM, THE CURRENT LAYS CLAIM TO SOME OF THE FINEST ROOFTOP VIEWS IN THE QUAD CITIES. AND ITS INTERIORS HOUSE THE WORK OF SOME OF DAVENPORT'S MOST CELEBRATED ARTISTS.
Built in the Chicago School style, the Current’s red brick and terracotta exterior gives way to a stunning entrance vestibule complete with a glass chandelier unique to the building. Distinctive local style is at the heart of the Current, with digital art displays in the lobby and works by emerging Midwest talent throughout the hotel. This blending of old world charm and modern art gallery style is no mistake – the Current is next door to the Figge Art Museum, home to the largest collection in the area.
Dining and drinking options at the Current have their own unique surprises, too. Baja, the hotel’s Mexican-inspired restaurant, features remarkable floor-to-ceiling windows where eagles can often be seen soaring by. Plus, guests can grab the elevator to the 9th floor rooftop bar, UP, which serves up breakfast, drinks, and supreme Mississippi River views.
