Palacio Santa Clara
Valencia, Spain
A gem of Valencia Modernismo design
The project of renowned architect Francisco Javier Goerlich, and home to the Niederleytner family, Hotel Palacio Santa Clara embodies Modernista Spanish style by breaking with traditions, and making new ones all of its own.
Inside the hotel, guests can experience an elegant echo of 1920’s Valencia. With touches of nature throughout and exotic motifs, feminity and Modernista style are felt in every corner. At night, the mood is enhanced further by low lights and mellow jazz, with El Modernista bar reviving the spirit of the ‘20s and serving more than 40 varieties of whiskey, the most popular drink of the time. Then head to Dome, a reconverted bar in the antique dome of the hotel roof. Guests can relax close to the pool or on the terrace, surrounded by plants reminiscent of a Valencian orchard.
Situated in the l'Eixample neighbourhood, heart of the Modernista period, it remains one of the most important commercial areas of the City. Those who visit can sometimes catch a spectacular fireworks display during the many festivals, or discover other nearby examples of Modernista design including La Lonja de la Seda and Estación del Norte.
