History down to a fine art

The unsuspecting traveler might mistake The Hotel Elephant for a gallery. Its remarkable art collection spans over 300 years, and is constantly growing. A unique pilgrimage for artists and collectors alike, the hotel remains the cultural heart of UNESCO treasure trove, Weimar.

Each suite in The Hotel Elephant is named in honor of cultural luminaries, including writer Thomas Mann and expressionist pioneer Lyonel Feininger, who were once guests themselves. Whilst art is ubiquitous throughout the hotel, guests are encouraged to explore the Lichtsaal; an annex of art, music, literature and architecture nestled at the hotel’s center. Ask the in-house cultural expert for a private tour of Weimar’s hidden gems, or discover the Goethe National Musuem, no more than a pen stroke from the front door. Then round off the day with authentic, Thuringia cuisine in the AnnA restaurant, and a glass of carefully selected local wine.
