Cavalier by Nature

Having welcomed ten U.S. Presidents through its doors since they first opened in 1927, The Cavalier, standing proud on a hill facing the Atlantic Ocean, has all the stately grandeur and carefree charm its name would suggest.

Painstakingly and lovingly restored with respect to the original architect Clarence Neff’s vision, The Cavalier’s design was inspired by Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, and is a bona fide Virginia Beach landmark, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Neo-Classical exterior features and rich textures of the interiors have been faithfully reimagined, with original period pieces throughout.

The 1920s elegance sits alongside all the modern comforts a guest needs, with 85 spacious rooms, infinity pool and new Beach Club, with access to a secluded, exclusive strip of Atlantic coastline, where dolphins can often be seen jumping. Becca, the new onsite restaurant serves fresh farm-to-table fare, and libations from The Cavalier’s very own on premise distillery.
